Dear Quilting Friends,

Summer is only a few weeks away and although it seems early to be thinking about it, it’s time to
plan those Fall and Christmas projects. Christmas fabrics are arriving daily and will be available for
purchase at the beginning of July. We will be holding our annual Christmas in July Sale from
Thursday, July 16th thru Saturday, July 18th. This will be a great opportunity to see the new lines
of holiday fabrics. Fall, Halloween, and Christmas fabrics will be on sale during this annual event.

Sew Ewe Quilt has traditionally held four larger sales events each year: Spring Fling, Christmas in
July, Anniversary Sale, and the End of Year Blow Out; and several smaller sales at some of the
holidays. In planning promotions for this year, we have added some new promotional events and
coupons to introduce our customers to new products or lines of fabrics. Our first coupon is

This past weekend, the Quilt Market was held in Sacramento. This is a time for quilt store owners
to view and order new lines of fabric coming out over the next six months. I attended this two
day event where I viewed and ordered many new and exciting fabrics designs. There will be three
new Moda lines including ‘Bears Got Game’. These bears are a continuation of the last two lines of
the bears that were so popular. This line will be coming in August. Another line, ‘Panache’, is a
bright green and burgundy design that will also be coming in August. Coming in October is ‘Close
To My Heart’ which is a pastel romantic line with batiks and cottons. Some fabrics coming in July
include ‘The Linus Project’ fabric from Avlyn, ‘The Pokey Little Puppy’ from Henry Glass, and
‘Cinnamon Spice’, a fall fabric, from Clothworks. These are just a few of the new lines of fabrics
coming between now and November. Make sure to visit the store to check out these new lines.

The summer class schedule is now available. All classes are listed on our website at http://www.
sewewequilt.com/classes.html . For those of you who like to make mystery quilts, there are two
mystery quilt classes scheduled this summer. Carmen Franklin’s class will be using a pattern
designed by Carmen using 2 ½” stripes. It is a beginner level class offered in August. In Mo
Gonzales’ class, you can use charms or fat quarters to make a quilt of whatever size you would
like. This is an advanced level class. Her two day class is offered in July.

Mark your calendars for the ‘Jingle Bell Hop’ which takes place Thursday, November 19, thru
Sunday November 22. The quilt color scheme for this year is red and white. I’m working on the
shop hop quilt and should have it complete and on display in the store by the middle of July. Also
in the fall will be the Delta Quilters Quilt Show on Saturday, October 20 and Sunday, October 21.
We will have a booth at this show so watch for more details in our fall newsletter.
